In Internal Family Systems Therapy, founded by Richard Schwartz, Self is 'a core concept representing the inherent wisdom, compassion, and healing capacity within each individual'.
It is the undamaged, unwounded, all loving, forever whole part of ourselves that has the power to heal us and lead us through the darkness and the fear, towards the light. The Self lives inside all of us. Many of us have forgotten this part or have never known it to exist because of trauma or wounding. The Self shows our wounded parts unconditional love through compassion, curiosity, calmness, creativity, clarity, confidence, courage, and connectedness.
In this workshop, we will connect with Self Energy through meditation, connection with others and creativity. You will create your Self portrait using various mixed media materials and come away with a piece of art that has the power to guide you back to yourself, back home.
A note from Michelle Carnes (facilitator): To be clear, I am not an IFS therapist. I am a mother, friend, creator, designer, art therapy lover, and truth seeker. I am honored to share this process with you so you can befriend the parts of you with curiosity and compassion, giving them permission to release and fell more at peace.
Upon sign-up, you will receive a welcome email and be prompted to email a photo of yourself from the chest up. It can be any expression you want, just make sure you use a white or light, and solid background. Photos must be received by Monday, August 18th.
No refunds after August 17th!
